Columbia Conference Center Donates Funds for New Eectronic Sign at Irmo High School

January 9, 2008

COLUMBIA, SC – January 9, 2008 – It is part of the Center’s Making Our Community a Better Place Program where the center gives one-half of its profits to charities and schools.

Staff and students used to take hours to situate letters on the old sign whereas now they can change the message to the community and drivers in minutes with ease.

Principal Eddie Walker commented, “It goes without saying that without the generosity of the DuBoses and Columbia Conference Center the sign would not be in place today.”

Our older sign which was donated by the Athletic Booster Club in 1985, served its’ purpose for over 20 years.  But like a 1985 computer, it had seen better days.  Our new sign will enable us to get the word out faster, more effectively and in a more attractive manner.  I appreciate the generosity of the DuBoses and their desire to make Irmo High and their community “A Better Place.”
