Countybank Foundation supports A Place for Us Ministries Renew Hope Camps

June 13, 2023

Countybank and Greenwood Capital recently presented a check for $500 to A Place for Us Ministries. The donation was given on behalf of the Countybank Foundation, which was established in 1971 and represents Countybank and Greenwood Capital.

This donation will help support the infrastructure and longevity of the organization’s Renew Hope Camps for at-risk children and youth, which are tentatively scheduled for this fall. “Funds from Countybank and Greenwood Capital will help ensure that the camps are functional and ready for use,” said Tammie Price, President and Founder of A Place for Us Ministries.

The program is designed to support children and youth in the Greenwood area and surrounding areas who are struggling with parental divorce/separation, emotional abuse, or household substance use, those scoring below state education standards in English or math, and those suffering from stress, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, or grief. Children and youth who attend Renew Hope Camps will learn and experience activities that support positive physical, social/emotional, educational, and behavioral practices.

“A Place for Us Ministries does so much to help young women, their babies, children, and youth in our community who may be struggling,” said David Tompkins, Greenwood Market Executive for Countybank. “We are honored to financially support this worthwhile program that will equip the next generation in overcoming life’s challenges.”
