David Keeling Joins First Citizens as Senior Vice President and Director of Mortgage

COLUMBIA, SC – May 8, 2008 – First Citizens is pleased to welcome David Keeling to its team. Keeling will serve as senior vice president and director of mortgage. In this role, he will be responsible for all residential mortgage lending activities at First Citizens. With more than 30 years of senior level banking experience, Keeling brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this position.

David is a wonderful fit for this position. The experience and knowledge he has developed throughout his career is an asset to First Citizens and its customers, said Toby Goodlett, First Citizens executive vice president and division executive.

Keeling is a graduate of Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Ohio with a bachelor of arts degree in business management. Prior to joining First Citizens, Keeling was the Third Party Channel Business Leader at Wachovia Mortgage, where he was responsible for all loan production activities, and oversaw the integration of equity and traditional mortgage wholesale and correspondent divisions into a single line of business. Keeling also served as the National Direct Lending Executive at Bank of America and led the National Accounts Department at First Union.

Keeling serves as a United Way campaign leader and on the Arts and Science Council. He is also a Habitat for Humanity volunteer. Keeling is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and previously served as a member of the Employee Relocation Council (ERC) and Industry Advisory Council.
