Dorchester County Hires New Fire Coordinator

ST. GEORGE, SC – January 12, 2012 – Aubrey “Tres” Atkinson has been hired as the new Dorchester County Fire Coordinator. He start date is Wednesday, February 1, 2012.
Mr. Atkinson was formerly employed as the Fire Chief for Columbia County, Florida since 2006. Prior to that, he served as Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director for Lee County, SC from 1999 to 2006. He has worked in the fire service for 25 years and earned a certificate in Emergency Management from Central Carolina Technical College.
“We’re excited about bringing an experienced fire chief to Dorchester County to work with our existing leaders to continue improving the service,” said Jason Ward, County Administrator.
