First Citizens raises more than $40,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of the Midlands

COLUMBIA, SC – June 10, 2008 – First Citizens exceeded its goal of raising more than $40,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of the Midlands during its annual Duck Race campaign. First Citizens donated a corporate gift of $25,000. More than 130 First Citizens associates and 21 branches participated in the fundraiser. On Saturday, May 3, the Duck Race was held at Riverfront Park and ducks were launched from the Gervais Street bridge. Funds raised during the campaign go towards programs for the Boys & Girls Club of the Midlands. First Citizens has been involved with the Duck Race for four years.

“By supporting charities like the Boys & Girls Club of the Midlands, we continue to demonstrate how committed First Citizens is to giving back to the communities that support us,” said Jenny Gould, executive vice president and retail banking director. Gould is also a board member of the Boys & Girls Club of the Midlands.
