Fluor Field to host 2021 Reedy River Rivalry presented by ScanSource on February 27

The rivalry returns with the annual Clemson – South Carolina game through limited in-person attendance, opportunity to live stream

On Saturday, February 27, the Greenville Drive and Fluor Field will once again host the annual Clemson University-University of South Carolina rivalry game. Thanks to the generous support and sponsorship of ScanSource, the Reedy River Rivalry, as the game has come to be known, has been held at Fluor Field 10 times, with nine of these games recorded among the Drive’s Top 20 games for attendance. While the event will look a little different this year to protect players, fans and staff, the Drive promises it will still be filled with the excitement, action and school pride fans have come to associate with it.

For the first time in nearly a year and half, fans will gather at Fluor Field to watch baseball, and safety is paramount. In collaboration with Clemson University, the University of South Carolina and State and City officials, and in keeping with social distancing requirements, the Drive allocated a total 1,800 tickets for this game. Each school released their ticket allotments last week to their respective fanbases, and the event is now sold out. While only these fans will be able to experience the action first-hand from the stands, the Drive and ScanSource invite everyone to get in on the fun by streaming the event live on ESPN+. All details are provided at www.greenvilledrive.com.

“We are incredibly fortunate and excited to see the return of college baseball and baseball fans to Fluor Field for this great event, but this annual fan favorite wouldn’t be possible without the continued support of a partner like ScanSource and the dedication and perseverance of the people of the Upstate, who’ve stood by us through the craziness of the past 18 months,” noted Greenville Drive General Manager Eric Jarinko. “Despite the challenges presented by COVID, ScanSource has remained dedicated to bringing this important annual event back to Greenville and available to fans via live streaming. They are a great example of a company that truly gets the Drive’s ‘Together We Win’ motto, and our community is better for their efforts.”

“ScanSource has always been committed to being an active and engaged member of the community, in good times and in bad, and the challenges of this year have given us an enhanced opportunity to be of help and service,” said Ansley Hoke, Senior Vice President of Marketing for ScanSource. “In addition to embracing the importance of service, we also understand the importance of commonality, connection and fun, and the Reedy River Rivalry gives us a chance to come together to enjoy the simple pleasure of sports and college rivalries that play such a big role in getting back to normal. We are proud to partner with the Drive on this fan favorite event and happy to offer the community a much-needed chance to relax and celebrate.”
