Follow Jenna’s Journey: State Teacher of the Year to Blog

ROCK HILL – August 19, 2008 – State Teacher of the Year Jenna Hallman has launched a blog to bring readers along with her as she travels to classrooms across South Carolina during the upcoming school year.

Hallman, a science teacher at Calhoun Academy of the Arts in Anderson School District Five, was named South Carolina Teacher of the Year this past May. In that role she represents South Carolina’s 50,000 teachers and is participating in one-year residency with the Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention, and Advancement (CERRA) located on the campus of Winthrop University in Rock Hill.

This year marks the second consecutive year that the State Teacher of the Year has blogged about her experiences after Ann Marie Taylor’s blog climbed to No. 10 on the State Department of Education’s top ten list for public education stories and events in 2007.
