Hood Construction hits 3 million man-hours without a lost time incident

June 17, 2024

Hood Construction proudly announces they have reached 3 million man-hours without a lost time incident. This landmark accomplishment is not commonly reached among firms of Hood’s size, especially among those employing the same number of in-house craft workers.

Achieving 3 million man-hours without a lost time incident is a testament to the effectiveness of Hood’s safety protocols and the dedication of their employees. Hood Construction places a high emphasis on safety and encourages everyone on each jobsite that: Know Safety + No Hazards / Zero Recordables. At the forefront of each project’s goals is that each team member on-site goes home safely at the end of every workday. Hood’s Safety Director, Kevin Hooker, has helped reach these goals by showing the company his unwavering dedication to the safety and health of the company.

“This milestone has exceeded my expectations, and I couldn’t be prouder of our team,” said Kevin Hooker, Safety Director.

As an additional testament to Hood’s commitment to safety, the firm was just awarded the Gleaming Star Award by the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation for its safety programs. “Our motto is ‘Build it the Right Way’…we not only build our projects the right way, but we have built our safety culture the right way,” said Mark Hood, President and CEO.

Hood Construction plans to celebrate this milestone with their team during their safety week at the end of this month.
