Infinity Marketing’s Tony Williams honored among SC’s Most Influential of 2023

Tony Williams, the founder of Greenville, SC-based Infinity Marketing and an engaged community leader for more than three decades, has been honored among SC’s Most Influential people of 2023, a statewide recognition given annually by Integrated Media Publishing.
“I couldn’t be more surprised or grateful to have been nominated and chosen for this special honor,” Williams remarked. “Like the other men and women who were selected, I do what I do each day not for an award or attention but because I give of myself where I feel I can make a positive difference. Thank you to all of you who considered the impact I’ve made worthy of this praise.”
Born in Greenville, SC as one of seven children, Williams came from humble beginnings, chose enrolling in the Army over going to college, and developed a knack for sales starting with his ability to connect with people through his first job serving as a bellhop for what was then the newly opened Hyatt Regency on Main Street. After Williams’ several years spent in radio advertising, his side hustle of buying media for companies evolved into Infinity Marketing in 1993. In the 30 years that have followed, Infinity Marketing has grown to a team of 75 professionals with more than 125 certifications who have served a diversified portfolio of clients with an array of integrative services, resulting in work that has earned the agency 180 awards to date. In 2016, the American Advertising Federation selected Tony Williams, who has never been an AAF member, to receive its most prestigious and coveted honor, the Silver Medal Award, recognizing his lifelong contribution to the industry. Williams recently announced that he was stepping down from his position as Infinity’s president, and a celebration in his honor, attended by hundreds, was held last month.
“It’s our privilege to introduce the people we consider to be South Carolina’s most influential. These are leaders, pioneers, innovators, artists, and so many others who advocate for change and envision better ways to do things,” said David Dykes, Integrated Media Publishing’s editor-in-chief.
Integrated Media Publishing selected the honorees based on compiled staff research and nominations received from the community. Honorees appear in the January 2024 issues of Greenville Business Magazine, Columbia Business Monthly, Charleston Business Magazine, and Grand Strand Business Magazine. A reception was held on Jan. 16 in Greenville, S.C., to formally bestow the honor on the 50 leaders from each region of the state who were chosen.
