Issaqueena Chapter, NSDAR earns state honors

The Issaqueena Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution received awards and honors during the recent conference of the South Carolina State Society DAR at the 128th State Conference in Columbia.

Issaqueena member, Marty Cobb, received recognition for completing the Members Course of the DAR Leadership Training Committee during a special awards ceremony. Previously, Susu Wallace, the chapter’s Secretary, completed the Members Course, and Helen Nazzaro, the chapter’s Organizing Regent, has completed all the DAR Leadership Training courses. The intensive training program is designed to help DAR members become active and engaged participants at all levels — chapter, state and national.

“It is an honor for the Issaqueena Chapter to be recognized for the dedication and hard work of our members,” said Nazzaro, the chapter’s Organizing Regent. “Formed last year, the Issaqueena Chapter is committed to working to meet the goals of service of our national organization.”

Among the awards received:

* Certificate of Award, Best Membership Recruitment, for chapters with less than 50 members, from the South Carolina State Society Membership Committee
* Certificate of Award, Best Broadcast, from the Public Relations and Media Committee
* Certificate of Recognition, Constitution Week Committee, for the number of Newspaper, Magazine and Newsletter Articles, from the Constitution Week Committee
* Certificate of Appreciation, from the American Heritage Committee
* Certificate of Appreciation, Lineage Research, from the Lineage Research Committee
* Certificate of Appreciation, Karen Petit, from the Lineage Research Committee
* Certificate of Recognition, Outstanding Constitution Week Participation, from the Constitution Week Committee
* Certificate of Appreciation, from the American Indians Committee
* Certificate of Appreciation, from the National Defense Committee
* Certificate of Award, Honorable Mention, from the Flag of the United States Committee
