Since Home Works began in 1996, more than 30,000 volunteers have joined to repair homes of and bring hope to more than 1,900 homeowners, typically individuals retired or disabled and living on less than $12,000 per year. Volunteers include youth and adults, skilled and unskilled, from a variety of faith backgrounds and organizations. Repairs are done at no cost to homeowners and are funded by hundreds of individual donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors. Repairs are often done in collaboration with city and county governments.
