Director of Admissions & Recruitment
School of Pharmacy – Presbyterian College
Location: Clinton, South Carolina

Job Description Summary:

  • Develop and implement a strategic recruitment plan that includes outreach to 2- and 4- year institutions, pre-pharmacy clubs/organizations, and other related populations to offer and coordinate presentations and workshop opportunities
  • Schedule and coordinate recruitment visits, events, workshops, and speaking opportunities for PCSP faculty and staff
  • Coordinate marketing efforts for all graduate programs (Pharmacy, OT, and PA)
  • Engage with prospective students, parents, guidance counselors, and other constituencies in order to communicate the message and value of the college
  • Plan and participate in visit programs, yield events, and other special events
  • Complete high volumes of outreach via telephone, email, text message, and handwritten notes.
  • Implement specific strategies for generating applications, completing applications, and enrolling students
  • Thoroughly evaluate applications and recommend appropriate decisions
  • Complete routine reports related to recruitment, travel, special programs, and professional development
  • Positively and professionally represent the College at all times
  • Participate in staff training and team building activities
  • Attend college/career/graduate school fairs (both virtually and in-person) and collect information about fair participants
  • Host virtual events for prospective students as needed
  • Ensure all new prospects are successfully entered into EMP (or database) and are followed up with accordingly
  • Develop and foster relationships with new prospects via personal emails, phone calls, texts or other methods of communication
  • Schedule appointments/tours for prospective students and families
  • Provide assistance with admission candidate interviews, preview days, and admission events as needed
  • Prepare and deliver recruitment reports and updates on a consistent basis
  • Assess recruitment outcomes and make suggestions for continuous improvement
  • Communicate with potential students to advise them of necessary requirements and related areas of the professional and academic programs
  • Accurately represent the program to potential students and educational programs
  • Consistently conduct follow-up as required with incoming students to ensure successful matriculation
  • Maintain accurate records of contact with applicants and potential applicants
  • Utilize CRM to effectively communicate with prospects and applicants.
  • Prepare and execute a marketing plan that promotes the School’s mission and raises the School’s visibility in the community
  • Develop relationships with pre-pharmacy advisors at regional institutions from which PCSP receives applicants
  • Represent the School at select recruiting events for the undergraduate program and at other institutions’ graduate school fairs, career days, and other regional recruiting presentations and events
  • Develop and fulfill partnerships with institutions/groups serving underrepresented minorities and other underserved groups
    Impart and assist student organizations/groups in dissemination of information regarding the profession of pharmacy
    Work with the Office of Experiential Education and involve preceptors and local pharmacists in the recruitment of potential students.
  • Manage relationships with vendors providing services for application generation and processing including PharmCAS, WebAdMIT, etc.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably from a liberal arts institution
Three years of progressive experience in a fast-past environment, preferably college admission
Must have superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, group presentation skills, and a proven ability to work with diverse constituencies
Positive / can do attitude
Ability to learn how to utilize recruitment software
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Demonstrated analytical skills and an understanding of the importance of using data to make decisions
Strong work ethic and creative initiative
Adept at following and adapting to ever-changing procedures and processes
Must possess a willingness and ability to work and succeed outside of a conventional work week, which may include travel with weekend and evening hours
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
