Immersive Program Designed to Increase Financial Literacy and Capability of High School Students

Today, Junior Achievement of Greater South Carolina announces the launch of JA Finance Park Mobile®. This program is designed to equip middle and high school students with a better understanding of effective money management by allowing them to experience an innovative, real-life simulation while challenging them to successfully manage their finances through decades of hypothetical life scenarios. The JA Finance Park® model is demonstrated to raise financial literacy, capability, and empowerment of students who have experienced the program in other areas of the country.

“Our mission at Junior Achievement of Greater South Carolina is to unleash the limitless potential within our state’s future generations,” stated JAGSC Board Chair Annmarie Fini. “By bridging classroom education with practical, real-world application, we strive to illuminate the path towards a secure financial future. The launch of this innovative mobile model allows us to extend life-changing financial literacy education to students across the state, regardless of their location.”

JA Finance Park® is Junior Achievement’s capstone curriculum for personal financial planning and career exploration. This teacher-led classroom curriculum culminates with a visit to JA Finance Park Mobile®, a realistic pop-up city, where students engage with volunteers and put into practice what they’ve learned by developing a personal budget. This new advanced curriculum and simulation gives middle and high school students a more personal focus. Students will select their career and define their future lifestyle and financial goals. The advanced simulation allows students to see the long-term impact of their education, savings, and credit decisions from high school graduation through retirement.

Casey Pash, President of JAGSC, extended thanks and a call to action saying, “We wouldn’t be able to bring this revolutionary program to South Carolina without the support and dedication of our Founding Partners at SEW Eurodrive, South Carolina Student Loan Corporation, and the Junior Achievement of Greater SC Board. To join them in contributing to this program’s success, please contact us via our website.” Find additional information and resources for prospective educators, volunteers, and donors at greatersc.ja.org/events/ja-finance-park-mobile.
