Laurens County 4-H Member Wins Fishing Project

December 13, 2023

Laurens County 4-H member Nathan Meade recently won first place in the Senior Division of the Upstate 4-H Fishing Project. He did so by completing a project record book and turning it in to the Laurens County Extension Office. From there it was scored alongside entries from other counties throughout the Upstate. Nathan was selected as the first place winner in the Senior Division (ages 14-18). As his prize, he will receive a guided fishing trip provided by Laid Back Guide Service.

The Upstate 4-H Fishing Project is an independent learning project where 4-H members ages 5 to 18 take pictures of the fish they catch and fill out a fishing log. They also learn about fish species, habitats, fishing gear, fish anatomy, and much more along the way.
