Laurens County to End Use of 800 number for 911 Resulting in Budget Savings

It was recently announced that Laurens County Emergency Communications would be ending service of their 1-800-922-0523 number effective January 1.
Historically, this number has been used by alarm companies to call in and the line costs Laurens County $200 a month. Those previously using this number will move to the regular non-emergent number which is 864-984-2523 (non-emergent number encouraged for non-emergent calls) which then rolls to dispatch.
Laurens County residents using an alarm company service should advise them of the change and make sure they have the correct number, 864-984-2523.
