LCPW Wins Safety Award from American Public Power Association

The Laurens Commission of Public Works was recently awarded the 2022 Electric Utility Safety Award of Excellence by the American Public Power Association.
The American Public Power Association’s safety awards recognize utilities’ incident rates and the overall state of their safety programs and culture. Groups are determined by worker-hours of exposure.
A total of One hundred sixty-six utilities earned the Safety Award of Excellence for safe operating practices in 2022.
“I’m very proud of our electric division and their commitment to doing their jobs safely and efficiently,” said General Manager John Young.
The award was presented “for meritorious achievement in attaining a low incidence rate during the year 2022.” Laurens CPW was one of fifteen to win first place in Group C (30,000-59,999 worker hours of exposure).
