Life Industries Honored with Export Achievement Award

Company has been aggressively pursuing the exports…and succeeding!
CHARLESTON, SC – June 11, 2012 – Life Industries president and CEO, Grace Schmidt, , was awarded the U.S. Commercial Service’s Export Achievement Certificate in recognition of her company’s success in exporting products all over the world. The award was presented to Mrs. Schmidt by North Charleston’s mayor, Keith Summey, at the recently held “Export 101” workshop held for firms in the Lowcountry. The event was organized by the U.S. Commercial Service in Charleston.
The North Charleston, SC-based company is the manufacturer BoatLIFE products, a line of of high quality caulking, sealants, epoxies, cleaners and waxes for the marine industry. In fact, the quality of BoatLIFE products are so well respected that the company’s Git-Rot® product was used to treat rotten wood during a White House restoration project. Life Industries also manufactures the AeroLIFE Industries, RvLIFE Products and HomeLIFE product lines, in addition to contract manufacturing, private label and contract packaging.
“The Export Achievement Certificate is awarded by our agency to recognize companies that have experienced substantial growth as a result of exporting,” said Phil Minard, manager of the U.S. Commercial Service’s (USCS) Export Assistance Center in Charleston. “I have worked with Grace for years and am proud to have nominated her for this award. She has dedicated her time and efforts to ensure that her company grows internationally.”
As part of these efforts, BoatLIFE has worked closely with the USCS since “the turn of the century! (1999),” said Minard. In recent years, Minard and his colleagues in USCS posts all over the world have counseled Mrs. Schmidt, providing advice as to which markets hold the most opportunities for the company. According to Minard, BoatLIFE has also made frequent use of training webinars and, most recently the USCS’s International Company Profile service to perform due diligence on a new distribution partner in the United Kingdom., who is now successfully developing the market there for quality BoatLIFE products. “This Export Achievement Certificate recognizes not only the new partnership established for BoatLIFE products in a foreign market but for their long-term steadfast approach to developing their export sales for well over a decade.”
