American Legion Copeland-Davidson Post 56 Adjutant Lynn Boyd received the Veterans Affairs “Great American: Volunteer of Year” award at the May 14th regular meeting of Post 56.

Laurens County Veterans Affairs Officer, Carey D. Bolt, Jr. presented the award to Boyd, but also noted that other volunteers from the American Legion Post 56 were well known for their support of the Veterans Affairs office. Waving his hands over the audience of Legionnaires, Carey stated “you people are what really make it” referring to the supporting of programs like the Hall of Heroes, youth programs, as well as helping individual veterans in need.
