Main Street Clinton Brings a Double Header Event to Clinton

October 6, 2021

With the postponement of Rhythm on the Rails earlier this year, Main Street Clinton is gearing up for a double header weekend for October 22nd and 23rd.

First up on October 22nd will be Scots and Brats on Friday with a Rhythm on the Rails flair.

“We are excited about combining these two events to bring a weekend of family fun and entertainment to downtown Clinton,” said Main Street Clinton Manager Adele Alducin. “There will be something for everyone to enjoy and several new things this year.”

Friday’s event will be open from 5:00 – 10:00 pm.

Saturday’s Rhythm on the Rails will be in high gear with music, rides, food and other events from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.

As previously reported, Starship featuring Mickey Thomas the original lead singer spent decades producing top chart hits will perform at this years’ event. Backed by the power of MICKEY’S vocals, “Jefferson Starship” scored a #1 hit with “JANE”. With this new sound and powerful new vocals, the group was renamed STARSHIP and continued to record an amazing string of hits including “NO WAY OUT”, “WE BUILT THIS CITY”, “SARA”, and an Oscar Nomination for the #1 hit “NOTHING GONNA STOP US NOW” from the movie “Mannequin”. Other top hits included “FIND YOUR WAY BACK”, “STRANGER”, “LAYING IT ON THE LINE”, and “IT’S NOT OVER TILL IT’S OVER” which became Major League Baseball’s theme in 1987.

Mickey will be backed by the band STARSHIP featuring Jeff Adams (Bass), John Roth (guitar), Phil Bennett (keyboard), Darrell Verdusco (drums), and Stephanie Calvert (vocals).

Main Street Clinton is now taking applications for vendors and sponsors. Information can be found on the events page under Rhythm on the Rails.
