May Installment of “Pour It Forward” to Focus on Fighting Childhood Obesity with Louie’s Kids

April 14, 2011

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC – May 18, 2011 –  With sixteen percent of America’s children obese and the other seventeen percent overweight, local nonprofit Louie’s Kids is on a mission to fight childhood obesity one child at a time and will be the beneficiary of the May installment of Pour It Forward. This monthly wine tasting giving event will happen on Wednesday, May 18 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at The Square Onion Too! at 411 Coleman Boulevard in Mount Pleasant. A $10 donation is requested and with their donation, patrons will enjoy a wine tasting, healthy snacks and more.

For this May installment, the chosen nonprofit organization, Louie’s Kids, raises funds to help treat childhood obesity, which afflicts 25 million American children today. With programs like Fit Club and Run Buddies, Louie’s Kids is funded by individuals, corporations and foundations and customizes each treatment to the needs of every child. “I have worked closely for many years with the founder of Louie’s Kids, Louis Yuhasz and seen the impact that Louie’s Kids has made not only in our community but around the nation. We’re lucky to have such a great organization right in our back yard and we definitely need to raise a glass and some funds for them.” said Mary Zapatka, owner of Square Onion and Square Onion Too!
