Mungo Commits $100,000 to Aid Harvest Hope

September 26, 2008

COLUMBIA, SC – September 26, 2008 – In response to a September 24, 2008 report, the Mungo brothers have committed as much as $100,000 to Harvest Hope Food Bank to help make up the shortage in a recent relief campaign.  Mungo Homes will match every dollar raised — up to $100,000 — starting Friday, September 26, 2008.

Mungo Homes was already in conversation with the food bank about a donation for the upcoming holiday season but Steven Mungo was alarmed when he read of the extreme shortage.  It might be a little tough in the housing industry right now, but our neighbors are starving, Mungo said, and placed a call to Harvest Hope CEO Denise Holland.

Mr. Mungo has turned the past few days around for us.  I started crying.  WOW!  Thank the Lord! exclaimed Ms. Holland.  One dollar goes a long way, buying 10 pounds of food.  Most people don’t know that.

Citadel Broadcasting will help get the word out and offer options on how to help in this Feed Your Neighbor campaign.  Food donations can be made at any Mungo Homes model home and online donations can be made at www.harvesthope.org.

Area businesses are encouraged to follow the lead taken by Mungo Homes and help in the relief effort.
