What:    MUSC Urban Farm Spring Season Open House
 
When/Time: Thursday, June 28, 2012, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Media is encouraged to attend the Cooking Demo and Tasting session (12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.)
 
Where:  MUSC Urban Farm (adjacent to the James B. Edwards Dental Clinics Building, 29 Bee Street, Charleston, S.C. 29403)
 
Schedule of Events  
8:00-8:30 a.m. – Farm Tour (is it ripe/ready to pick?)
8:30-9:00 a.m. – Educational Session (composting)
9:00-10:00 a.m. – Volunteer training/orientation (opportunities on the farm)
10:00-11:00 a.m. – Educational Session (urban chickens)
11:00-11:30 a.m. – Farm Tour (organic pest control)
12:00-1:00 p.m. – Cooking demo/Tasting (fresh from the farm)
1:00-2:00 p.m. – Volunteer training /orientation (proper food handling)
2:00-2:30 p.m. – Farm Tour (food donations system)
2:30-3:00 p.m. – Educational Session (beekeeping)
3:00-3:30 p.m. – Educational Session (sensational salads)
4:00-5:00 p.m. – Volunteer training/ orientation (taming weeds)
