New Technologies Workshop to Boost Communication Effectiveness

COLUMBIA, SC – Aug. 17, 2007 – Professional communicators — and anyone for whom effective communication is an essential part of the job — are invited to a new professional development workshop sponsored by the S.C. chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators. “Integrating the Latest Technologies Into Public Relations and Marketing” will cover the latest tools in the new media world, including blogs and podcasts, plus how to use them effectively in organizational communications. Featured speakers include:

 Eric Schwartzman – iPressRoom Corporation
 Brad Warthen – The State newspaper
 Matt Larson – Avalanche Internet Marketing
 Michele Affronte – The Adams Group

The workshop will also include networking opportunities with professional communicators from across the state, case studies and a live demonstration of how to create a podcast.

The workshop will be held Thursday, Sept. 20 from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Brookland Banquet and Conference Center, 1054 Sunset Boulevard in West Columbia. Cost is $75 for IABC members, $95 for nonmembers and $25 for students. Continental breakfast and lunch are included. Seating is limited and registration is due by Sept. 14.
