October 16, 2019
The Who’s on the Move, BizSC, Non Profit Minute is a quick, two-minute interview in support of the amazing impact that local non profits have on our communities.
We would like to thank our sponsors of this video series:
Rachel Price, AmeriCorps Program Director, Palmetto Conservation Foundation
The Palmetto Conservation Foundation (PCF) is perhaps best known for its role in building the Palmetto Trail which currently consists of more than 350 trail miles in 14 counties through South Carolina. The PCF’s goal is to complete 500 trail miles in a continuous ribbon from the mountains to the sea (from Walhalla in Oconee County to Awendaw in Charleston County). PSF helps South Carolina communities grow and prosper while maintaining local character, preserving historic landmarks, and improving quality of life.
Lesser known is the Palmetto Conservation Corps, South Carolina’s only trail-based state AmeriCorps Program for young adults. The Corps completes service work on the Palmetto Trail, through public lands, in communities, and with various organizations throughout the state. The vision of the Corps is to create sustainable communities while conserving South Carolina’s natural resources. The Corps develops the conservation leaders of tomorrow through service and education, strengthens partnerships that address environmental challenges, and cultivates civically-engaged citizens.
