Charitable Initiative Benefits Players from One Field to Another by Turning Home Runs into Donations

GREENVILLE, SC – November 5, 2013 – OnPoint CFO & Controller Services recently presented a check for $1,000 to Mauldin Miracle League as part of the 4th Annual OnPoint Home Run Challenge; a season-long charitable initiative that turns home runs hit by Greenville Drive players into donations for Upstate charities.

Mauldin Miracle League (MML) is a local league that allows developmentally and physically challenged children to play baseball  in a non-judgmental, fun and social environment. The money donated from the Home Run Challenge will contribute to a scholarship fund for players that helps cover the costs of participation fees, player insurance, equipment and uniforms.

We have a great partnership with OnPoint CFO and the Greenville Drive as they continue to sponsor the Home Run Challenge each year and are kind enough to share the proceeds with our program, said Dennis Raines, director and founder of Mauldin Miracle League. Thanks to Brian Clark at OnPoint CFO and the Greenville Drive for their continued support of our kids in MML.

In partnership with the Greenville Drive, the OnPoint Home Run Challenge has donated more than $15,000 to Upstate charities since hitting the field in 2010. Throughout the 2013 season, OnPoint donated $100 for every home run and $500 for each grand slam hit by a Greenville Drive player at Fluor Field. This year, the Drive knocked in 34 home runs and one grand slam, totaling $3,800 in donations. In addition to Mauldin Miracle League, the other benefiting nonprofits for the 2013 season were the South Carolina Children’s Theatre and Safe Harbor.

Mauldin Miracle League is a natural beneficiary to the OnPoint Home Run Challenge, said Brian Clark, president of OnPoint CFO & Controller Services. I think it’s fantastic, it really is. The Miracle League believes ‘every child deserves a chance to play baseball.’ The thrill of playing, cheers from the stands…even friendships the children and their families develop–all of these offer respite from their everyday battles. OnPoint is pleased to help make these miracles happen.
