Technologists from across the region expected in the Vista

COLUMBIA, SC – Columbia’s Vista is preparing to play host to more than 600 technologists from across the Southeast. The Palmetto Open Source Software Conference (POSSCON), presented by IT-oLogy, will once again bring a world-class lineup of IT thought leaders to Columbia for two days to discuss the latest open source technologies and issues for developers, executives, government leaders and educators.

POSSCON will take place on Tuesday, April 14 and Wednesday, April 15 and will feature keynotes, talks and workshops presented by the top talent in the Open Source space. Social events are also planned, including two networking opportunities sponsored by Mandrill and the Indie Grits Kick-off Party.

POSSCON 2015 will feature six track sessions: Front-end Developer, Back-end Developer, DevOps/Cloud, Operations, Operations/Back End, Security, and Open 101.

Nearly 90% of all organizations use open technology and just one in five developers have NOT used open source in the last 12 months. POSSCON consistently has featured some of the most well known technologists in the world as well as the most popular technologies and most important companies in tech and the “open” space.

Keynote speakers include Andy Hunt, founder, Pragmatic Bookshelf and Jason Hibbets, director, OpenSource.com.
