Prysmian Group launches second phase of engineer recruiting program

February 17, 2017

Prysmian Group, the world leader in the energy and telecom cables and systems industry, announced the launch of the second edition of its “Make It” recruiting program aimed at acquiring new talent for production facilities worldwide.

After a highly successful first edition, which received more than 6,000 applications and led to the recruitment of 50 professionals, Prysmian Group continues to search for process, maintenance, design and quality engineers, as well as other technical specialists. The profiles required include a degree in engineering, leadership skills and three to seven years’ experience obtained in similar professional positions.

Ongoing learning, training and the opportunity for concrete professional growth are the key elements underpinning the company’s philosophy and an extensive human capital development strategy. “At Prysmian we strongly believe in young talented people because they represent the future,” said Hakan Ozmen, president and CEO of Prysmian Group, North America. “Our goal is to develop them so that they can achieve their full potential. It is within this framework that ‘Make It’ is just one of the many programs that allows us to tap into the talent that can really make a difference for Prysmian Group.”

Through a four-year professional pathway, “Make It” offers a top training opportunity with the Prysmian Group Academy, which focuses on further developing candidates’ careers. The program includes a one-week induction at Prysmian Group’s new headquarters in Italy and two weeks of training by the Group’s technical experts in the Manufacturing Academy.

With 88 plants and various centers of excellence throughout 33 countries, Prysmian Group is committed to ongoing industrial investments — amounting to about €200 million each year — making it a world leader in its sector, particularly in key submarine cable and optical fiber segments.

“We’re proud of the progress we’ve made in 2016 with investments in our facilities like Claremont, N.C,” said Ozmen. “Over the next year we have big plans to make further investments, like a $3.5 million compounding plant expansion to the Abbeville, S.C. facility and a large investment in the North American Headquarters facility in Lexington, S.C. These investments will provide even more job opportunities.” Within the U.S., factories in North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts will be looking to hire through the “Make It” program.

The selection process will be open through the end of March and the induction into the Group is expected in June 2017. For more information, or to apply online, visit www.prysmiangroup.com/makeit.
