Randy Stevens Memorial Ride: 2nd Annual Caesars Head Bike Run

June 10, 2024

The Laurens Police Department (LPD) recently announced the 2nd Annual Caesars Head Bike Run, dedicated this year to the memory of Randy “Steam” Stevens. Scheduled for Sunday, June 30, 2024, this motorcycle and hot rod benefit ride will raise funds for the LPD’s Youth Summer Camp.

Randy Stevens, the beloved voice of Laurens County morning talk radio on WLBG, recently passed away due to injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident. Stevens was a staunch supporter of the Laurens Police Department Summer Camp in 2023, and his contributions to the community were immeasurable. In honor of his dedication, the LPD has named this annual ride after him, with the full support of his wife, Melissa Stevens.

The event will kick off with registration at 9:00 AM on the Public Square in downtown Laurens, SC. The ride will commence at 10:00 AM, leading participants on a scenic journey to Caesars Head State Park. A minimum donation of $25 per bike or vehicle is required to join the ride.

Chief Heath Copeland of the Laurens Police Department emphasized the importance of this event, stating, “Randy Stevens was a true friend to the community and the Laurens Police Department. His legacy of support for our Youth Summer Camp continues to inspire us, and we are honored to hold this ride in his memory.”

Participants and supporters are encouraged to come out and show their support. For more information, please contact Assistant Chief Sherfield at 864-200-0088.
