Registration for SC 4-H Wildlife Food Plot Project Now Open

July 17, 2023

The 2023-2024 South Carolina 4-H Wildlife Food Plot Project is now open for registration for South Carolina’s youth.

The project is a hands-on, environmental education program and a competitive, independent-study project that allows youth ages 5-18 years of age the opportunity to establish, maintain, and observe a wildlife food plot.

The registration cost is $18 for current 4-H members (non-members will be expected to enroll in 4-H for the 2023-2024 club year).

Those wanting to participate but not having available land for the project should contact their local Extension office to see if they can help locate a landowner with a suitable site. Youth can participate as individuals or as a group.

Youth who participate in the project are supported throughout the project by state and county Extension staff and through monthly newsletters and scheduled virtual learning opportunities.

Food plot seed (Fall Signature Blend) is provided by @southlandwildlife and is enough to cover 1/8 of an acre. A 4-H record book is also provided.

The deadline to register is Friday, August 25. Click HERE to register and learn more.
