Rotary Club of Five Points honors a Richland County Law Enforcement Officer with the Nancy Moody Award for Excellence in Law Enforcement

Cassie Radford, an investigator with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department was named the first annual winner of the Nancy Moody Award for Excellence in Law Enforcement. The award is sponsored by the Five Points Rotary Club and is named in honor of Nancy Moody, a long-time member of the club. Nancy was a past president of the Club and a former Rotary District Governor. She also worked as an Associate Probate Judge and with the Fifth Circuit Solicitor’s office.
Special guests including Sheriff Leon Lott and Probate Judge Amy McCulloch, and friends and family of Moody honored a Richland County Law Enforcement Officer in her name. Nancy Moody was very supportive of the Richland County Sheriff’s Department and worked closely as a victim’s advocate. As a way of honoring Moody’s service to Rotary, the award will be known as the Nancy M. Moody Law Enforcement Award of Excellence and will be given annually by the Club The recipient will receive a plaque and a lapel pin.
Ms. Radford was chosen for her many years of excellent service with the Sherriff’s office and her work as a K-9 handler for an electronics detection dog. The award also includes a $500 contribution to the Richland County Sheriff Department’s Foundation and will be spent on the needs of the RCSD K-9 services.
