Salute to the Military Reception

CHARLESTON, SC – May 5, 2011 –  The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Salute to the Military reception Thursday, May 5, 2011 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Charleston Area Convention Center to honor the men and women in our Armed Forces who protect our homeland.

The Salute to the Military reception will feature an awards ceremony to recognize local active-duty, reserve and civilian personnel for their outstanding service to the community.  The Chamber will also recognize a local business for their collaboration and support to the local military community.  A networking reception will be held after the two events to allow the community to engage with the acknowledged individuals.

General Raymond E. Johns Jr., USAF, Commander, Air Mobility Command, will be the keynote speaker at the reception.  General Johns graduated the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1977 and served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Plans and Programs, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C.
