SCDOT Seeks Applications for Fiscal Year 2013 Federal Match Program

COLUMBIA, SC – June 27, 2012 – The South Carolina Department ofTransportation (SCDOT) is announcing the FY 2013 Federal Match Programand is seeking applications for federal-aid eligible resurfacing andsystem upgrade projects with a 50-50 federal/local match participation.   Applications will be accepted from August 1 to September 14, 2012.

A mandatory pre-application meeting will be held on Thursday, July 12,2012 at 10 a.m. in the 5th Floor Auditorium of the SCDOT Headquarterslocated at 955 Park Street, Columbia, South Carolina.  Representativesplanning to attend the pre-proposal meeting must RSVP by July 6, 2012 bycontacting Mark Pleasant, Statewide Planning Chief, at (803) 737-1444or by email at [email protected].

Candidate projects will include resurfacing projects (reconstruction,rehabilitation, or preventive maintenance) and “Shovel-Ready” systemupgrade improvements (widening, new location). Projects must befederal-aid eligible and the source of matching funds may include, butis not limited to, city or county sources. Attached is a completelisting of Project Qualifications under the 2013 Federal Match Program.

Projects will be selected by the SCDOT Commission through theapplication process and priority will be given to resurfacing projectswith remaining funds being made available for system upgrade projects.  The 2013 Federal Match Program will be contingent on the availability ofadequate federal funding.  The Commission will announce approved matchprojects at their October Commission meeting.
