Seasoned CPA joins board of directors for Pattison’s Academy

Penny Lewis has joined the board of directors for Pattison’s Academy, which provides support to children with multiple and severe disabilities. Services include a private therapy practice, family support services with a focus on early intervention, education services through PACE Charter School, and a therapeutic summer camp.

Lewis, a seasoned certified public accountant, brings her accounting and fiscal experience to the Pattison’s Academy board, assisting the Charleston area organization with financial planning and budgeting.

Lewis has operated her own CPA practice for more than 30 years, moving from Greenville, S.C., to Isle of Palms. In November 2016, Lewis formed a new CPA firm, Penny Lewis CPA LLC located in Mount Pleasant.

Lewis is a South Carolina native and earned her bachelor’s degree from Furman University. She currently serves as immediate past chairwoman of the South Carolina Association of CPAs. Lewis also has served on several boards and industry associations, including as treasurer for the Charleston American Marketing Association and a member of the Isle of Palms Planning Commission.
