Southern First Celebrates Lexington Grand Opening

COLUMBIA, SC – August 26, 2008 – Southern First Bancshares, Inc. is pleased to announce the company celebrated a ribbon cutting ceremony Monday at its newest location on 5346 Sunset Boulevard in Lexington, South Carolina.

Randy Halfacre, Mayor of Lexington, and Butch Wallace, Congressman Joe Wilson’s Chief-of-Staff, attended the event to welcome Southern First to the Lexington area. Reverend Jeff Kersey of Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church gave the invocation.

Justin Strickland, President of Southern First Bank, greeted over 50 guests on hand to meet Nancy Hutto, Vice President and Client Officer at the Lexington location, and her staff. “We are excited to have a presence in the fast-growing Lexington area,” Strickland said. “We appreciate the community’s enthusiasm and look forward to introducing our ClientFIRST® culture to area residents and businesses.”
