Taylors Fire and Sewer District receives top rating

Taylors Fire and Sewer District is pleased to announce the district has been notified that it has received a satisfactory rating by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) on its most recent inspection of the Taylors Collection System. Satisfactory is the highest rating that can be earned. The rating indicates that all of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) requirements evaluated during the inspection were being met by the district.

The NPDES permit program addresses water pollution by regulating point sources that discharge pollutants to the nation’s waters. The NPDES permit program is authorized by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to perform many permitting, administrative, and enforcement aspects of the program. According to the NPDES, the organization’s permits make sure that a state’s mandatory standards for clean water and the federal minimum standards are being met.

“We are very pleased that our district has received such a high mark and what this means for our constituents,” said Samantha Bartow, Director of Sewer Services for the Taylors Fire and Sewer District. “We are dedicated to providing both homeowners and business owners in our district with excellent service. This rating is clear evidence that we are fulfilling that strong commitment.”

The district is situated in central Greenville County, northeast of the City of Greenville and adjacent to the western border of the City of Greer.
