The Pasture Restaurant Expanding to Bring a New Restaurant to Clinton

May 15, 2024

The Pasture Restaurant, a staple on the dine out scene in Clinton, is embarking on an exciting new chapter with the expansion to a second location at 306 E. Carolina Avenue. Contrary to recent rumors, The Pasture is not relocating but rather introducing a new dining experience under the name Pop’s BBQ and Country Cooking.

Owner Marcus Cheek expressed deep gratitude to the community for the support of The Pasture, stating, “First, we’d like to thank the community for supporting and continuing to support The Pasture Restaurant. It’s truly been a blessing to give back to our community; not just by providing food, but also by providing jobs, donating to local charities, sponsoring local teams, and helping organizations raise money. We are very grateful to be here in Clinton.”

The new venture, Pop’s BBQ and Country Cooking, will offer a buffet-style menu featuring classic barbecue and country cuisine. The team has been diligently preparing the new location, refurbishing the building to create a welcoming dining space.

Dispelling recent speculation about the new site, Cheeks clarified, “It’s been rumored that The Pasture is moving to 306 E. Carolina Avenue, we are not moving The Pasture; however, we are re-opening that location. The new location will be called Pop’s BBQ and Country Cooking and will be buffet style BBQ and country cooking. We have been working diligently to clean and renovate the building. Contrary to popular belief, the building wasn’t condemned, nor was the building closed by the Fire Marshall or DHEC.”

The community can anticipate the grand opening of Pop’s BBQ and Country Cooking on May 28th, but Cheeks is asking for patience during the final preparations to open.
