COLUMBIA, SC – October 8, 2009 – Tim Lawing, CFD tested for National Certification in floral design at the national convention of the American Institute of Floral Design. The convention was held in Kansas City Mo. in July. Mr. Lawing is one of only three designers in the Midlands area that have achieved this level of recognition of qulification. Testing is extensive in design, creativity, mechanics and principles in professional floral design. CFD (Certified Floral Designer) is considered the Masters Degree level and Mr. Lawing plans to test in Boston in July 2010 to achieve the PHD level of an AIFD designer. www.timstouchflorist.com
Mr. Lawing has had his work published in numerous national floral publications. He was recently named Telefloras National Marketer of the month. He has won several design competitions including Designer of the Year for the Midlands. Mr. Lawing travels the US teaching programs in wedding and event design. He has established the Midlands first – Do It Yourself Wedding Flower Parties to help brides strech their budgets.
