Verizon Wireless Responds to Needs of the Lot Project of Anderson with Blanket Donation

January 24, 2011

ANDERSON, SC – On Thursday, January 20, employees from Verizon Wireless stores around the area assisted at The Lot Project’s biweekly community outreach, which offers weekly meals, clothing and personal hygiene products to the needy of Anderson, South Carolina. The Verizon employees helped with a special project to aid the hurting by offering fleece blankets and serving a warm meal.

This winter, organizations in Anderson like The Lot Project are struggling to provide for the people who come to them for help. While the economy has left more and more families without jobs, food and the necessary things to live, donations to emergency shelters and aid organizations have depleted. The early part of the year is their greatest time of need, as many people gave donations during the holidays. This project is part of Verizon Wireless’ ongoing efforts to be active in the communities in which their employees reside.
