2011 Fair Housing/Home Buyers Fair

SPARTANBURG, SC – August 2, 2011 – The City of Spartanburg,Spartanburg County, and the Spartanburg Human Relations Commission arepartnering to sponsor the 2011 Fair Housing/Home Buyers Fair. Thisevent will be held Saturday, August 13, 2011 at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium located at 385 North Church Street; admission and parkingare free.
The Fair Housing/Home Buyers Fair is designed to promote fair housing practices and educational opportunities to the Spartanburg community. Scheduled for the day is a vendor exhibition with approximately 30businesses/organizations representing the many aspects of Fair Housingregulations along with those dealing with the varying areas of homeownership; whether you are a first time home buyer, need financialcounseling or may be facing potential foreclosure, information will beavailable.
In addition, mini seminars will be scheduled throughout the daydealing with varying and relevant topics such as financial literacy,mortgage options, home maintenance, and the importance of insuring yourinvestment. Translators will also be on hand to assist with Spanishinterpretation if needed.
Doors open at 10 and the event will continue until 2:00pm. Preregistration is not required but if you RSVP prior to the date of theevent, you will receive a free lunch. The City of Spartanburg,Spartanburg County and the Spartanburg Human Relations Commissionencourage all citizens to come out, get information and support the goal of equal housing opportunity for all people.
