2nd Sunday on King Street is This Weekend

The Live 5 Weather Team tells us that cooler temperatures should bring record crowds to enjoy all King Street has to offer on this pedestrian-only day.

Musicians from the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and Laura Ball & Friends Unedited Concert Series will play this month, along with 2nd Sunday regularsvThe Honeybees, Oliver Penegar and Carlo Garcia from the Charleston County School of the Arts, Nocturne Depths and others.

Nick’s Pink Pig will have their barbecue rig on the street, offering slow smoked spare ribs straight from the pit. Linger over a Firefly Sweet Tea Lemonade while you take a break from shopping.

Kids can color Trick or Treat Bags at Le Creuset

Charleston Magazine will host bloggers from their popular Charleston Grit weblog: Holly Herrick of Charleston Chow, Hunter Boone of Blogerati, John F. Abess of Shrink Think and Cullen Murray Kemp of A Sense of Where We Are.

Le Creuset invites children to their store at 241 King Street to color their own Trick-or-Treat bag during 2nd Sunday on special Le Creuset bags in that popular orange color.

To support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Affordables at 305 King Street will host a book signing for local author Jane Herlong and her novel What Ta-Tas Teach Us.

CadillacBaker Buick GMC Cadillac will bring the new 2013 Cadillac ATS, the 2012 Cadillac SRX and the 2012 Escalade.

The Gibbes Museum of Art will be admission-free on 2nd Sunday. Check out their current exhibition Sound and Vision: Monumental Rock and Roll Photography. Access the Gibbes via the beautiful Gateway Walk beside the Charleston Library Society on Lower King Street. (The Gateway Walk is a fabulous tour, 2nd Sunday or any day!)
