Great Granddaughter of Mark Twain to Visit The Woodlands at Furman

July 15, 2014

GREENVILLE, SC – The Woodlands at Furman will be hosting author Susan Bailey for a discussion on her book, “The Twain Shall Meet.”

“The Twain Shall Meet,” which was written with genealogist Deb Gosselin, tells the saga of Susan’s lifelong search to find her birth mother. Bailey learned that the woman she believed to be her mother was in fact, not her biological mother.  She spent the past five decades looking for her mother and what she found out, could be a shock to the literary world if true.

Bailey and Gosselin pieced together childhood memories, DNA evidence, and almost 1,000 pages of diaries, which lead their search straight into the heart of Mark Twain’s daughter and granddaughter.  Bailey will be discussing the book and signed copies for sale at the Woodlands on July 22, 2014 starting at 4 p.m. Anyone wishing to attend needs to contact the Woodlands at Furman at (864) 371-3100.
