Toast a Timeless Treasure at Riverbanks Botanical Garden

COLUMBIA, SC – Wine Tasting at Riverbanks Botanical Garden will take place on Friday, April 25, from 7:00pm-9:30pm, concluding a day-long celebration in honor of Riverbanks Zoo’s 40th anniversary.
Tickets are now on sale for the spring fundraiser hosted by Riverbanks Society. Guests will enjoy a palate-pleasing bouquet of more than 100 varieties of wine ranging from floral and fruity to dry and nutty. In addition, for those who prefer hops to grapes, an assortment of select brews will be available for sampling.
Several of Columbia’s finest restaurants and caterers will be on hand offering an assortment of appetizers. Restaurant partners include Hudson’s Classic Catering, Liberty Tap Room and Grill, Melting Pot, Miyo’s, Pearlz Oyster Bar, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, as well as Riverbanks Zoo and Garden’s Events and Hospitality catering division. The Jamie Beresford Band will complement the evening with live jazz.
A limited number of tickets will be sold. Advance admission prices are $40 for Riverbanks members and $50 for the general public. Any tickets remaining the day of the event will be $60. All proceeds benefit wildlife conservation and education efforts at Riverbanks. Tickets may be purchased online at www.riverbanks.org or at any Zoo and Garden ticket window.
Riverbanks Zoo and Garden encourages responsible drinking. Proper photo identification is required and no one under the age of 21 will be permitted. To help ensure the safety of our guests, Riverbanks has partnered with 2nd Wind Heating and Air for the Safe Ride program offering cab rides to residences and hotels in Richland and Lexington counties. Event sponsors also include Colonial Life, Land Rover Columbia and Sam’s Fine Wine and Spirits.
Wine Tasting will take place rain or shine. Parking and entry to the event will be available on the Botanical Garden side only at 1300 Botanical Parkway in West Columbia.
