COLUMBIA, SC- July 18, 2013- Blues legend B.B. King will appear at the Township Auditorium, Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 8:00pm. The Township Auditorium Foundation, the non-profit arm of the historic concert venue, presents the concert.
With one of the world’s most identifiable guitar styles, B.B. King has been a model and influence for thousands of players from Eric Clapton and George Harrison to Jeff Beck and Joe Bonnamassa. We are delighted to have an entertainer of his caliber back in Columbia, on our stage, said Mims Rust, Chair of the Township Foundation Board of Directors. B.B. is a legend, a major cultural influence, and still an entertainer of the first order, even at 82 years old. They just don’t make ’em like him anymore.
Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Township Auditorium Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization whose mission is to provide educational outreach, specific programming opportunities for diverse and underserved markets, and to provide assistance to local non-profits in using the Township Auditorium as a way of providing affordable entertainment to the community especially through schools and other outreach.
