An A.C. Flora High School Class of 2016 graduate is among the 25 South Carolina students who have been named as winners of the highly prestigious National Merit Scholarships financed by colleges and universities.

Richland One congratulates Flora graduate Elizabeth Hogue on her selection as a winner. Elizabeth, who plans to pursue a career in medicine, was awarded her scholarship by Furman University.

Colleges and universities select scholarship winners from among the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program finalists who plan to attend their institutions. The awards, which recognize academic excellence, provide $500 to $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study. To date, six Richland One students have received National Merit Scholarships this year.
