Aloft Greenville downtown announces completion of management team with three new hires

GREENVILLE, SC – McKibbon Hotel Management, Inc., a leading hotel management group with more than 80 properties, today announced the completion of its management team for Aloft Greenville Downtown with the appointment of Josh Hamlin, director of food and beverage; Leanne Bryan, operations manager; and Brad Smith, guest services manager. The hotel is slated to open this fall on Laurens Street facing One City Plaza.

Hamlin brings vast food and beverage knowledge to the team with nearly 10 years of experience in the industry. He has held food and beverage roles at several hotels including Aloft Orlando Downtown, Westin Orlando Universal Boulevard, and Point Orlando Resort. In his role at Aloft Greenville Downtown, Hamlin will help implement a unique food and beverage offering with a local flair for the hotel’s W XYZ® bar, which will offer small plates, signature cocktails, and a selection of local beer and wine. He will also create original catering menus and breakfast offerings for the hotel.

Bryan joins the Aloft Greenville Downtown team from the Best Western Plus Carolinian Oceanfront Resort in Myrtle Beach. Prior to this role, she worked for McKibbon Hotel Management for 10 years. She brings a wide range of hospitality experience to the team through roles including assistant general manager, general manager, and sales and service coordinator at various McKibbon properties. Bryan has worked at McKibbon’s Residence Inn by Marriott Greenville-Spartanburg Airport, where she was promoted to general manager.

Smith has served as a manager in training for McKibbon Hotel Management and joins the Aloft Greenville Downtown team with his first official assignment for McKibbon as guest services manager. He holds a degree in hospitality and resort management from University of Memphis and brings hospitality experience to the team from his time at The Peabody Memphis.

Located at Greenville’s ONE City Plaza, Aloft Greenville Downtown, a Starwood Hotel and Resort lifestyle hotel, will sit atop a new 474-space public parking garage and feature 144 spacious, loft-like rooms, leading-edge technology and a lively, social atmosphere. The hotel will be McKibbon’s third Aloft hotel, joining Aloft Asheville Downtown and Aloft Tallahassee Downtown. The hotel will feature an outdoor level on the sixth floor with cabana rooms, a fire pit, dog walk and sun-filled outdoor pool elevated for views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, all facing Washington Street. It will feature an array of suites, including six poolside cabana rooms, seven king suites, and seven corner suites. Aloft brand’s signature W XYZ® bar will sit on the fourth floor and open up to The Ledge overlooking the plaza. Local artwork from Greenville artists will decorate the hotel’s public spaces and local, emerging musicians will play at the hotel’s live music series, Live@Aloft.
