Aloft Greenville Downtown General Manager Jonathan Brashier appointed to VisitGreenvilleSC Board of Directors

McKibbon Hotel Management, a leading hotel management company with more than 80 properties, is pleased to announce that Aloft Greenville Downtown general manager Jonathan Brashier has been appointed to the 2016 VisitGreenvilleSC board of directors. Brashier’s three-year term began on January 1, 2016.
VisitGreenvilleSC is recognized as the official destination marketing and sales organization for the greater Greenville region and is responsible for promoting the area as an attractive destination for meetings and conventions, trade shows, and leisure travel, and encouraging potential visitors to experience Greenville and all it has to offer.
“The Aloft is a bright new player to the tourism and hospitality community in Greenville. The board of VisitGreenvilleSC always reviews qualified candidates, and Jonathan was at the top of the list. His excitement about the new property and Greenville was a bonus to the board,” said Chris Stone, president of VisitGreenvilleSC.
Brashier is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Aloft Greenville Downtown, which officially opened its doors to the public in December 2015. Brashier has more than 20 years of hotel management and operations experience with brands such as SpringHill Suites by Marriott, Courtyard by Marriott, Residence Inn by Marriott and Aloft. A graduate of Spartanburg Methodist College, Brashier joined the McKibbon team in 2000 and most recently managed the Aloft in Tallahassee, Florida before joining the Aloft Greenville Downtown team.
“As a Greenville native who recently returned home, I could not be more excited to collaborate with VisitGreenvilleSC and the new board of directors to tell Greenville’s story to potential visitors,” said Brashier. “This is a very exciting time to be part of the hospitality industry in Greenville as we become more of a destination for leisure and group travel, while continuing to serve as a very attractive location for business travelers.”
Located in ONE City Plaza, Aloft Greenville Downtown is considered Greenville’s first lifestyle hotel, offering unique characteristics and programs for guests and locals, while incorporating the local culture throughout the property. The hotel includes a 474-space public parking garage and 144 guest rooms. It features an outdoor level on the sixth floor with amenities including cabana rooms, an outdoor pool, and a fire pit and dog walk, all facing Washington Street. A second outdoor level includes Aloft’s W XYZ bar and The Ledge overlooking ONE City Plaza. Aloft Greenville Downtown features artwork by local and regional artists in its public spaces and guestrooms and showcases local emerging musicians through its Live@Aloft music series on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
