A multiple Grammy winner, Golden Globe award nominee and an inductee in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Garfunkel is generally best known for his tenure as half of the renowned folk duo Simon and Garfunkel. The seemingly laid back, wild-haired Garfunkel joined forces with singer/songwriter/musician Paul Simon together the beloved balladeers became timeless troubadours of the 60s, thanks to classics including: “The Sound of Silence”, “Homeward Bound”, “Mrs. Robinson”, “The Boxer”, “I am a Rock”, and “Bridge Over Troubled Water”.
Garfunkel’s solo career highlights are significant with numerous hits worldwide, plus he has also received a People’s Choice Award, six Grammys and a Lifetime Achievement Award. He was seen earlier this year at the 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction Ceremony giving the speech to induct Cat Stevens into the hall.
In a news release from Garfunkel, the iconic artist explained that he is “back in love being on stage” after taking time off to recover from a vocal ailment. “I feel like 26,” said Garfunkel, who has been singing since he was 5. “I worked to get the voice back—it is my best friend. I’m married to singing and its problems.”
