Beasley Law makes SC Bar Foundation donation in honor of Chip Price

December 14, 2020

Ryan Beasley Law made a $5,000 donation to the South Carolina Bar Foundation this year as part of Giving Tuesday, but this was more than regular charitable gift.

The firm’s founder, Ryan Beasley made the donation in honor of the late Chip Price, the legendary Greenville defense attorney who died earlier this year. Price hired Beasley in 2001 as an associate lawyer and later they were partners in a practice together.

“My career was built on his shoulders,” Beasley said. “I saved every note Chip ever wrote because they meant that much to me.”

The vision of the SC Bar Foundation is for every person in South Carolina to recognize and secure legal rights. Since 1987, the foundation has awarded more than $50 million to various law-related organizations throughout South Carolina. It is the only statewide funding source for the provision of civil legal aid and law-related projects.

“Chip was the Godfather of Defense Attorneys in Greenville. He helped at least 50 attorneys get their start over the decades. Maybe more. He was a champion of those who needed defending,” Beasley. “His support of the Bar was one of his hallmarks.”
