Berkeley Superintendent resigns; Board appoints Interim Superintendent

In a special called board meeting of the Berkeley County School District, the Board voted to accept the resignation of Superintendent Brenda Blackburn effective immediately and to appoint Chief Administrative Officer Deon Jackson as Interim Superintendent. The Board further engaged consulting firm Harding Parker and Associates, LLC, to provide leadership and expertise regarding the operations of the School District. The consulting firm will conduct a Superintendent’s
search for the Board.
