Board approves Held as new graphic designer

During the June 26, 2016 regular monthly meeting of the Lexington County School District One Board of Trustees, the board approved the hiring of a new graphic designer for the Communications Office.
A marketing professional with more than 20 years of experience, Laurie Held worked at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina from 1995 to 2016, becoming art director in 2005.
While at BlueCross BlueShield, Held was responsible for designing a variety of marketing, promotional, public relations and educational materials. As a special projects artist at BlueCross BlueShield from 1995 to 2005, she designed internal communications and annual reports.
Held received a Silver Award from the American Advertising Awards in 2011, a Silver Wing Award from the Public Relations Society of America in 2005, and an Award of Excellence and two Certificate of Merit awards from the International Association of Business Communicators.
A graduate of Midlands Technical College, Held earned an associate’s degree in communications.
